Caroline Scully

I first started working with glass as part of my degree in 3D Design at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2000. After graduating in 2003 I went on to spend two years developing my skills and understanding of glass at the International Glass Centre in Brierley Hill, West Midlands.
My work is contemporary, with an emphasis on strong colour and density. The results are intended to be unique, hand blown, decorative pieces in luxurious tones, capturing the fluid qualities of the glass.
My current works are created by incorporating vibrant colours with applied decoration such as trails, attachments and copper inclusions; also hand polishing the glass to reveal a luminous finish. The animal world is at the forefront of my designs at the moment, particularly cats and birds.
I can now be found working at the Red House Glass Cone in Stourbridge.
