I often fill these bubbles or drops with tiny, round, faceted laboratory grown stones. These stones are created under intense heat and can therefore withstand the conditions as the vessel is returned to the flame for the sealing process. Light is the main inspiration for my work; my jewellery reflects or refracts light from external sources, or can emit its own light through fluorescence or phosphorescence. Other pieces are inspired by vibrant city lights at night. Overall, my work is often abstract, combining shapes, colours, textures, movement and sounds with a rare use of pictorial themes. I blow miniature hollow components; spherical bubbles or straight drops from colourless glass tube and combine these with handmade precious metal elements.

Ceramic male torso by sculptor Emma Rodgers.

Dimensions: (H) 31.5cm X (W)25cm

Emma Rodgers is an internationally successful sculptor whose work explores the dynamic relationship between form and movement.

"Confrontation, energy, curiosity, essence of a moment and interaction are the main elements that initially draw me to a new subject and are indicative of the very nature of the animals I have depicted.

When approaching a new body of work I produce a large amount of visual research. Sketching is particularly important as it provides me with a greater understanding of the form. I aim to interpret these drawn qualities into clay and remove the work from pure representation. A jagged line in ink is re-interpreted as a torn clay edge; an arc of soft pencil becomes a soft fold. The energy of the animal and the tautness of the pose are conveyed by a distortion in the medium." - Emma Rodgers

Evening Marsh is a stunning scenic painting by Lisa Kronenburg, capturing the serene beauty of a tranquil landscape. Even as a small child growing up in the mid-western United States (New Mexico, Texas and Kansas) I was aware of the light, movements, sounds and spaces of the places in which we lived. But mostly it was a sense of recognition, that it was somehow part of me – an extension of myself. This feeling was both reassuring and frightening. I have therefore always wondered and worried about scale and distance. Something bigger than my comprehension or understanding, but always present, always there. This continuing sensitivity to landscape is at the core of all my work.

Most of my landscape paintings are of vast, panoramic, empty places with an ambiguous sense of scale and, also sometimes, of subject matter. For example, is it water or earth that is represented? While my paintings mostly conform to the traditional landscape composition of horizon line, ground and sky, it is the process of painting that allows me to create, imagine and inhabit a more abstract sense of place - the mood and emotion of air, light, land and water from a distance… far away.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2555/9248/collections/New_Green_2022_oil_on_canvas_50x50cms.jpg?v=1781702129
