"Crafted within the walls of the Manchester Craft and Design Centre, the MCDC Pendant is a contemporary homage to the city’s industrial past and creative present. This piece is rooted— quite literally—in Manchester’s iconic red brickwork, featuring an authentic brick
fragment embedded as the heart of the design. A material so often overlooked is elevated here, becoming a powerful symbol of heritage, resilience, and reinvention.
Set in sterling silver, the pendant contrasts refined craftsmanship with the raw, textured edge of the salvaged brick. A rich garnet, with its deep crimson hue, mirrors the warmth of aged masonry and evokes the enduring spirit of the city. Alongside it, a cubic zirconia adds a sharp glint of modernity—its clean brilliance representing new stories rising from old foundations.
Designed and made on-site at the MCDC, this pendant doesn’t just reference place—
it embodies it. It’s a wearable archive of Manchester’s material soul, fusing urban grit with fine detail."
