At the age of 15 Rachel discovered silversmithing when she accompanied her Grandfather to an evening class. She continued to attend the class until she left home to study 3D crafts at Brighton University. After graduating in 1999, she set up her workshop at Cross St. Studios in Hove where she worked for the next 11 years.
Her work has developed over the years which incorporates illustrative themes. Her jewellery has developed from miniature kitchen utensils to intricate miniature drawings on coins, whilst her drawings of kitchen interiors have moved into printmaking and hand embroidering onto vintage textiles.
She is inspired by the simple day to day objects in our homes and enjoys bringing life back to things which may have had little purpose in the way we live our lives today. Her coin jewellery and artwork can be found in homes all over the world.
