Figure in Boat by Emma Rodgers

This figure in boat by sculptor Emma Rodgers depicts part of the story of Helen of Troy when she is sailing through the waves. The piece incorporates coral, shells, waves and a porcelain boat that appears to be a paper boat, making reference to 16th Century play by Christopher Marlowe, "the face that launch'd a thousand ships."

The piece is mounted on a circular marble and wooden plinth.
