Free Spirits 03 by John O'Loughlin
The maker has drawn a graphite grid, wet the paper and applied paint to some of the cells. The colours are free spirited and, oblivious of the grid, flow across the wet surface, beyond the boundaries, interacting with one another, creating intricate patterns and exploring the paper. Once dry, cotton thread has been used to reinstate the grid from which the colours have escaped and show how far they got.
