Jaguar Brooch by Iris de La Torre

£35.00

Iris' starting point in making the 'Cats' collection was the symbolic and mystic connotations and beliefs that many cultures around the world and throughout history have held about cats.

The jaguar is the largest cat in the American continent and one of the world’s most beautiful felines. In Mexico, and in Mayan culture, this animal symbolizes the God of the night sky and the ruler of the underworld. The jaguar represents strength, beauty, agility, power, ferocity and valour and one’s ability to face one’s own fears. On this design, the jaguar is depicted as being calm but alert.

Dimensions: (W) 6.5 x (H) 5.5 cm

The Jaguar brooch is made out of shimmering copper orange acrylic with a striking graphic black printed eye and pattern, and a base metal silver-plated pin bar. The brooch comes packaged in a printed gift box, with a card depicting an illustration of the Jaguar.
