Small Marsh Tit Vase by Jean White

£50.00

A small oval-shaped slip cast vase in a creamy white parian clay, with a burgundy interior. The exterior decoration features relief cast ammonites surrounding a transfer print of Jean's original illustration of a Marsh Tit.

Dimensions: (W) 11 x (H) 8.5 x (D) 8 cm

The Marsh Tit is on the RSBP's red list of endangered birds. It is "a small, mainly brown bird, with a shiny black cap, dark bib and pale belly. In the UK, its identification is made tricky by the very similar appearance of native Willow Tits. They're so hard to identify that ornithologists (scientists who study birds) didn't realise there were two species until 1897." - RSBP

This vase is not glazed: it is suitable for displaying dried flowers only.
