Alun Evans
Alun is a painter printmaker who works from his studio in Frodsham close to the south bank of the Mersey Estuary. In recent years he has looked closely at the Liverpool waterfront as its historical identity has evolved. Alun’s imagery includes recognisable buildings in the city and historically significant objects displayed in the museums along the city’s waterfront and how they gel to form a particular sense of place.
Each of the works are individual pieces of fine art rather than part of an edition. A finished print may include 15–20 squeegee passes as well as collaged screen-printed elements, and digital imagery. Additionally, the works use gesso and acrylic wash.
