We offer shipping to the UK and internationally (*) and have extensive experience of safely delivering beautiful craft worldwide. A guide to our shipping rate are below, but if you have any questions please contact us and our gallery team will be delighted to assist you.

We dispatch orders in the UK via Royal Mail, with delivery options including First Class and Special Delivery:

You may also choose to collect from the gallery free of charge. Our address is 50-51 College Lane, Liverpool, L1 3BZ. We recommend entering the gallery directly via our College Lane entrance: we are open Mondays - Saturdays, 10am - 5:30pm, and on Sundays, 12 noon - 5pm.

Estimated delivery times (after dispatch from gallery):

First Class and First Class Signed For services: approx. 1 - 2 business days.

Special Delivery (Next Day 1pm): guaranteed delivery before 1pm next day (excluding Saturdays and Sundays). Please see www.royalmail.com/sending/uk/special-delivery-guaranteed-1pm for full details.

* We cannot guarantee that orders shipped via special delivery will arrive by the next day if placed after 3pm.

** For larger items sent via a tracked / courier delivery, we will select a service with an appropriate insurance cover to protect against loss or damage.

How we calculate our prices: our prices are worked out based on current Royal Mail prices, plus VAT and a small additional fee for packing costs. We regularly review our prices and do our best to ensure our shipping fees are fair and accurate.

As we want your order to arrive safe and sound, we pack each piece with the utmost care. Jewellery is packed in one of our stylish dark blue jewellery boxes. Fragile items such as ceramics and glass are wrapped in bubble and tissue, before packing in a box with protective chippings. Where possible, we try to reuse and recycle packing materials, or use eco-friendly options. Your parcel will also include a sheet of information on the maker(s) of your chosen item(s).

Please note: if you select the First Class option during checkout, the full value of your item may not be covered in the event of an item being lost or damaged during transit. For high value items, including jewellery, we recommend selecting the delivery option which provides the most appropriate insurance and tracking.

International

For international deliveries of small items, we use Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed service:

After dispatch from the gallery, Royal Mail estimated delivery worldwide takes 3 - 7 days and parcels are fully tracked to the delivery point. Please note that we cannot ship international orders to PO boxes or pack stations, as a signature is required on delivery.

* Please note that if you require additional insurance (up to a value of £250) for high value items such as jewellery, further fees may apply. Please contact the gallery team if you would like additional insurance to be added to your parcel.

Customs and import duties: the prices listed in our online shop include UK VAT on our gallery commission, however if applicable these will be refunded for international purchases.

Please note that customs or import duties are charged once a parcel reaches its destination country: import charges and customs policies vary depending on the destination country, and it is the customer’s responsibility to pay these fees. We recommend checking the rules and fees for your country before placing an order to avoid unexpected charges.

Bdc will provide a packing list and commercial invoice for all international orders to help facilitate import customs and charges. If you require further documentation, please contact the gallery team and we will be happy to assist you.

International shipping of large items: for purchases of larger items (2kg or heavier, or particularly large items such as furniture) a member of the Bdc team will contact you to arrange international shipping. Costs may vary depending on shipping destination, packing requirements and delivery time, and we will provide you with a range of options to help you find the best solution and get your order to you safely.

(* Our standard international rates cover delivery to North America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and parts of Europe. If you live outside these countries, please contact the gallery team for a quote. Some items on our online shop have specialist shipping rates due to their size or value and may not automatically show options for international shipping. Please contact the team if you have any questions.)

 

Royal Mail Strike Action, August & September 2022

During August and September 2022, UK postal workers in the Communication Workers Union will be undertaking industrial action.

Strikes will be held on Friday 26 August, Thursday 31 August, Thursday 8 September and Friday 9 September 2022.

This will impact on our ability to dispatch orders on the affected dates, especially the August bank holiday weekend which coincides with the first strike dates. To ensure the safety of the items, please be aware that any orders placed the day before or on the day of strike action will not be dispatched until the day after the action is completed. During the August bank holiday weekend, any order placed between Thursday 25 - Wednesday 31 August will be dispatched on Thursday 1 September.
