All my vases and bowls are one off and finely wheel-thrown in porcelain. I enjoy the contrast between sensual elegance and visual playfulness, the dense purity of porcelain and its fragile translucency. I use the profile of each piece to explore the tension created by extending and constraining the soft porcelain as I work, then I refine the surface to ensure it is perfectly smooth. Recently I have juxtaposed minimal forms with exuberant glaze colours that glow. Tactile glaze surfaces are punctuated with meticulous details at the rim and base to highlight the purity of the porcelain.
