Catherine Hills
Catherine Hills is an international award-winning designer and maker of the jewellery for the Harry Potter films. She also made the jewellery for Emilia Clarke in ‘Solo’ the latest Star Wars movie. Catherine set-up her jewellery design business in Central London in 1993, following graduation from the Royal College of Art. She has been at the forefront of British jewellery design for over twenty-five years.
Her distinctive pieces, described as ‘contemporary classics’ are inspired by nature and characterised by the use of repetitive abstract forms. The work is influenced by the granulation technique of ancient civilisations. She strives to produce work which is a sensitive response to the demand for distinctive, affordable jewellery.
Her work has been exhibited and sold in Heals, Harrods, the V&A and at many galleries across the UK and abroad. Catherine has also designed commissions for HRH Prince of Wales, No.10 Downing Street and The Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Catherine received two significant awards; winner of the British Jewellers Association Award and finalist of The Jewellery Designer of The Year. Catherine was made a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and of the City of London in 2002.
