My collection is inspired by the story of a long standing Huddersfield based maker facing closure, whose stall has been a vibrant part of the community since the 1960s. Through the use of found objects sourced directly from the market and photo- etching imagery, the work traces a visual timeline of the market’s rich history. The collection acts as a form of preservation, capturing personal and collective memories tied to the space and celebrating its cultural significance within Huddersfield.
