Joanne Eddon
The technique I have specialised in is a monoprint method of hand painting which I experimented with and developed at college. Each piece is painted individually but, unlike other methods of hand painting, this technique allows me the freedom to achieve a paint-brush mark. This, I think, typifies all of my designs which are controlled yet painterly.
Source material for designs varies tremendously from the work of artists such as Hundertwasser, Klimt and Klee, to Celtic patterning and illuminated manuscripts or more simply flowers from my garden. Over the years I have produced special designs for bodies such as The National Trust, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Lady Lever Art Gallery and The Walker Art Gallery.
