In 1964-67 Lucy studied for a BA in three dimensional design at Loughborough College of Art, Leicestershire where she was first introduced to precious metal as an art form. Her studies continued in 1967 at the Royal College of Art, London where she specialised in silversmithing.
After graduating she spent some years teaching both children and adults in London. She relinquished teaching to design and produce her own ranges of silver jewellery in 1977 which initially sold at Liberty & Co. and various craft galleries throughout the UK.
Lucy moved from London to live in North Wales in 1981 and continued to develop ranges of precious jewellery and undertook commissions. Jewellery is inspired by the natural world, particularly landscape, trees and all things to do with the sea. She works in precious materials and uses a variety of coloured high quality precious and semi-precious gem stones.
