Porter + Trundle
Porter + Trundle is a collaboration formed in 2019 between artist, Sarah Emily Porter and furniture-maker, James Trundle.
Using a combination of traditional craft techniques with digital process and contemporary materials, Porter + Trundle occupy the space between art, craft and design, to create playful, sculptural works that bridge the gap between the functional and dysfunctional, adding an artistic edge to interior spaces. A key theme within the work is the relationship between colour and form, which co-founder, Sarah Emily Porter, explores in more depth through her abstract paintings.
Collectively they have won numerous awards including the Richard Seager Annual Arts Award 2019 and the New Ashgate Rising Stars Award 2021. In 2019 they were commissioned by the London Festival of Architecture to create their signature City of London Bench which sat outside the Royal Exchange, and in 2020 they became a member of the Crafts Council UK Hothouse Talent Alumni.
