Saskia Gavin
Saskia finds inspiration in her environment, both natural and manmade, picking out shapes, forms and textures, repeating them, developing patterns and rhythms. Currently she works mostly with silver and copper, using traditional techniques.
As she likes the jewellery she makes to be interesting to feel as well as to look at, she likes to give the wearer something to fiddle with, and consequently there is often a moving element. Her work ranges from striking statement pieces to tactile ornament for everyday wear, all made by her in her Edinburgh studio.
