This beautiful free machine & hand embroidered piece also features hand embroidered applique by textile artist Michelle Holmes.
It is framed in an unfinished wood and celebrates the Egyptian Goose as part of a new series of original contemporary artworks by Michelle Holmes. The Egyptian Goose is an African member of the Anatidae family including ducks, geese, and swans. Because of their popularity chiefly as an ornamental bird, the species has also been introduced to Europe, the United States and elsewhere outside their natural range.

Michelle's meticulous choice of fabrics emphasize textures and colours, providing a surprisingly fresh interpretation on well known garden favourites as well as less common species.
Materials are sourced from Michelle's extensive collection of vintage fabrics which are applied with a combination of hand and machines stitching with linen thread. The embroidered panel is mounted onto an acid free board and framed.
