Becky's work is designed to be both worn, and displayed. All her pieces start life as drawings. Narratives are captured in silver, and her work is peopled with characters adventuring and exploring, evoking folktales and memories. They express an everyday engagement with the great outdoors, which is a source of wonder and a constant inspiration.
The pieces are individually made by hand from sheet silver with gold and gold leaf for detailing. The metal is pierced out, then textures or patterns are applied using a variety of techniques. These include milling paper cuts to emboss the surface and steel stamps to create textures. These components are then layered together, soldered, and finished with matt, oxidised and polishes surfaces to add depth and tone.
