Our Artist Member maker of the month is Paul Finch. His work is on display here in the gallery throughout the year.
“Paul was inspired to make jewellery during his travels in Asia and has been working as a self-taught designer jeweller since 1998. He is now based in Southern France.
Paul uses a variety of techniques to create distinctive ranges of jewellery characterized by simplicity and elegance. A love of strong form is key to his work. He aims to create sculptural pieces in silver or gold combined with diamonds or gemstones in unusual settings. His use of diamonds and gemstones in bold majestic settings creates indulgent and interesting pieces.
The multi split 4 diamond shell ring is an elegant and unique sculptural silver ring. The silver folds of the band capture 4 sparkling diamonds which glisten within the rich 22ct gold plated interior. The diamonds are tension set to allow maximum light around the stone. Each ring is individually handmade.”
