Glazed Hardwood Lidded Container by Andrew Pentland

£140.00

A beautifully crafted glazed lidded container with a wooden lid by ceramicist Andrew Pentland. Each piece is wheel-thrown before being carefully arranged within the kiln for wood firing.

As the firing unfolds, the natural movement of flame and ash plays an active role in the final finish, subtly enriching both glazed and bare surfaces. This process ensures that every piece carries its own distinctive markings, shaped by the elemental interaction of fire, material, and time.

Dimensions: (H) 10.7cm X (D) 14cm

"My work is predominantly wheel thrown and wood fired, before being packed strategically into the kiln, allowing the natural flow of flame and ash, produced during the firing, to enhance the glazed or bare surface of each individual piece. I love producing work on the wheel, enjoying the relationship between the mechanical action of throwing and free flowing ideas and shapes generated from my love of studio ceramics.
My work evolves through personal use and is balanced between being aesthetically pleasing as well as ergonomically designed for daily use" - Andrew Pentland
